A 20th century French silver plate chamberstick. The chamberstick base was made from a copper plate bent over to create a unique form with a lower base which stands on 3 legs and an upper base which holds the candle holder. The bases (upper and lower) have a detailed design which include flowers, leaves and branches. The lower base also has a symbolic head at the edge. The handle and candle holder are attached to the bases and also have a detailed design. The combination of silver plate and copper (where the silver plate wore out) on the design are impressive. The chamberstick is 30 cm long, 11 cm wide and 10.5 cm tall. It weighs 480 grams.
