72 Portuguese 19th Century Silver Chamberstick

A 19th century Potuguese silver chamberstick. The chamber is exceptionally large and of oval shape. It is of the art nuveaux style and the large base as well as the candle holder are decorated with leaves, branches and flowers. It is marked with the mark of Oporto or Gondmar and has the pig mark with the roman numeral II denoting 833 silver. The large chamberstick is 22 cm long, 14.5 cm wide and 8 cm high. It weighs 260 grams. There is a hole at the candle holder which could have been made for a snuffer, although it does seem out of place.
