A 19th century Portuguese silver chamberstick. The chamberstick decoration is high relief and features a group of four flowers surrounded by hand worked garlands of stylistic leaves. The work is repeated on the upper sconce and stick is a very good example of the silversmiths skill. his very ornate solid silver chamberstick is from Portugal and is late 19th century Gondomar or OPORTO with the animal hallmark for the period. There is also a hallmark for the maker although it is indistinct. It has a diameter of 17.5 cm, 7.6 cm tall and weighs 140 grams .
