7 Spanish 19th Century Silver Chamberstick

A 1877 Spanish silver chamberstick. The chamberstick is rounded and its center rises up in an octagonal shape to support an octagonal shape candle holder at the top. There is a delicate pattern on the stem and on the circular edge at the bottom of the candle holder. On its rim it has the silver signs for the Villa y Corte de Madrid, the year 1877 and the silversmith SERRAN (see the description by Jose Luis Mu?oz D?az on the Web). Its handle curves upwards with a protruding thin 1.2cms long silver stick. A similar shape of a chamberstick and similar signs may be found in the Spanish Catalog of National Heritage published in 1987. The chamberstick diameter (at the bottom) is 10.5 cms, its height is 8.4 cms and the diameter of the top of the candle holder is 7.1 cms. It weighs 200 gms.
