A late 19th century Spanish sterling chamberstick. A footed and pierced bowl supports a candle nozzle attached to a long curved handle forming a tripod of support. The chamberstick has tweezers which are attached to the underside of the handle and is typical of early Italian and Spanish chambersticks (see chamberstick #3 which is very similar). The tweezers, snuffer (not typical of Spanish chambersticks) and body of the chamberstick are hallmarked separately with a pentagram that indicates a minimum of 91.5% silver and a makers mark of a fish within a hexagonal stamp. The chamberstick is 30 cm long, 9 cm wide,5.5 cm tall and weighs 180 grams.
