123 Spanish 19th Century Silver Chamberstick

An early 19th century Spanish silver chamberstick . The chamberstick has a round shape base with a flat long handle similar to earlier (18th century) Spanish chambersticks. It has the characteristic tweezers (present in Italian and Spanish chambersticks) which is connected by a chain and placed in the underside of the chamberstick. The design of the edge of the base and the first part of the handle edges seem to be similar while the end of the handle is thick and could be hollow. The candle holder has a nail inside to secure the candle. The style is basque and it is marked Bar and J Marti. It is 10 cm wide, 30 cm long (including handle) and about 5 cm high. It weighs 255 gms
