A 19th century Spanish silver chamberstick. The chamberstick has a round base and a long handle with the characteristic tweezers (present in Italian and Spanish chambersticks) which is connected by a chain and placed in the underside of the chamberstick. The round base has an elevated wide rim embossed with various designs, including rhombus and curved lines. The candle holder which has a split to ease the removal of candles rises from the lower part of the base. The marks on the lower part of the base are hard to read, but the crown above an illegible number is typical of Spanish silver of the 19th century. The chambertick is 11 cm wide (base), 21 cm long (including its handle) and 4 cm high. It weighs 140 grams.
