A 19th century French Gold Gilt double chamberstick. The chamberstick is typical of a shape used in single chambersticks made of silver and bronze in France in the 18th and 19th century. It is relatively plain with a light gadrooned rim and a ring around the two candle holders. It has a thumb grip handle of rhombus shape with a finger placement. Its rectangular shape is 16 cm long and 6 cm wide with the handle extending an additional 6.5 cm. It is 5.5 cm high and weighs 350 grams.
