5 French 19th Century Silver Chamberstick


A 19th century French silver chamberstick. The chamberstick is of a round shape and is base has a lightly embossed decoration of flowers and leaves. Its wide rim is profusely decorated with branches and leaves and at one end has an entwined horn and torch, at the other end it flows into a thick, probably hollow handle. The handle which has an emblem decoration ends in a small flower. The candle holder has 12 lines or sectors while the wax dripper has 18 sectors. The candle holder connects to the base with the typical French 4 corners bolt and screw. The bobeche is marked with the Minerve hallmark. The chamberstick is 12 cm diameter, with the handle extending an additional 9 cm and it is 7.2 cm high. It weighs 280 grams.
