326 German 19th Century Sterling Chamberstick

 


A 19th century sterling German chamberstick. The rare miniature dragon chamberstick was probably German or Dutch and is marked with the 930 silver content. The dragon has its tongue protruding from its mouth and has its wings spread out. Its candle holder is on top of its head, and it stands on two legs and its long tail. The chamberstick was imported to England as can be seen by the marks on its wings. The chamberstick is marked 930 on its tail, with the fully Hallmarked English imported silver London, with the year 1897 (b) on one wing and WM for William Moering, the importer on the other wing. Its length is 5.5 cm and its height is 4 cm. It weighs 20 grams
