302 American 20th Century Silverplate Chamberstick

This wonderful antique American chamberstick is silverplated and dates from the late 1800’s or early 1900’s. Made by Pairpoint Mfg Co. of New Bedford, Massachusetts, this Gothic Revival candle holder features a clawed hand rising up from the center. The base plate is decorated with crude Frankenstein type stitches patching four “torn” areas. The design of the piece makes it appear that the arm of the creature has broken through the leathery base section. This chamberstick stands 10.6 cm tall. Measured handle to outer rim, it has a full width of 13.5 cm. It weighs 320 grams
