An 1847 English sterling chamberstick. The chamberstick has a beautiful flowing form from its tray to the top of its sconce. There are 8 sectors on the chamberstick, 3 with a geometrical trapezoid, the fourth having a small plate for a monogram, and 4 sectors with a combination of silver balls or beads. The different sectors flow from the bottom through the sconce to the wax drip plate The decoration is repeated twice more in the sconce. The finger holder and original snuffer fit with the overall form. It is marked (chamberstick. removable sconce and snuffer) with the Sheffield mark for 1847 and the makers mark of Thomas Bradbury & Sons who were registered 1832-1848. It has a 6.5 cm diameter, 11.5 cm height, and it weighs 100 grams. See #206 and #217 of the same period.
