179 English 19th Century Sterling Chamberstick

An 1895 English sterling chamberstick. The chamberstick is unique in having a beetle on its tray and a candle holder set on three wire type legs. The beetle is made up from two green semi precious stones. The tray is an octagon with four sides folded towards the candle holder and four sides raised and fluted. The round candle holder is also fluted matching the tray. The finger holder is a simple ring. The chamber stick has the Birmingham letter date for 1899 and the maker’s mark is WG which is William Goss who was registered in Birmingham in 1882. The chamberstick is 8.7cm long, 4.8 cm tall and it weighs 60 grams.
