312 English 19th Century Sterling Chamberstick


An 1892 English sterling chamberstick. The chamberstick has the circular drip pan with its rim, and the base of the candleholder stem having a finely pierced Repousse work. The Repousse work includes figues of faces, branches and leaves Its removable sconce and snffer are relatively plain and do not match the fine Repousse work. The chamberstick, sconce and snuffer are all marked with the london sterling marks and the letter R for 1892, with the chamberstick and snuffer having the makers mark WC for William Comyns. The chamberstick diameter is about 11.5 cm (with the finger rest an additional 2 cm), it is 7 cm high and it weighs about 125 grams.
