47 English 19th Century Sterling Chamberstick

An 1806 sterling English chamberstick. The Chamberstick is a simple rectangular chamberstick with a fixed bobeche typical for that period. The rim of the base, the rim of the candle drip tray and the original snuffer all have the same type of grooves as does the finger holder. The chamberstick and snuffer all have the London hallmarks with the date letter L for 1806. The makers mark T•I which is on the bottom of the Chamberstick and on the snuffer could be Thomas Liddiard whose mark is recorded to be in the 1780s and 90s. The chamberstick is 9.2 cm long, 7.5 cm wide and about 4.2 cm high. It weighs 70 grams.
