A 19th century silver Indian chamberstick. This extremely rare chamberstick and snuffer is Indian Kutch (or Cutch) silver work which is distinguished by its extremely heavy gauge, closely worked, foliate, repoussé design. Although Indian silver is mostly unmarked, Kutch silver is distinguished and well known by its closely work foliate, repoussé design. The intensive design of flowers, branches and leaves, is present on the chamberstick as well as the candle holder and snuffer. Only the finger holder which is shaped like a cobra is not heavily designed. The chamberstick was made around 1880’s and has a diameter of about 12 cm, and a height of about 5 cm . It weighs 295 grams
