289 Swedish 19th Century Silver Chamberstick


A Swedish 1874 Silver chamberstick. The chamberstick has a round shape and is beaded (with relatively large type beads) on its rim and the rim of the removable sconce. The chamberstick has no decorations on the base or the stem aside from the beads on the rims. It has several hallmarks on its base and sconce. A state control mark of three crowns was used from 1752 on, the date mark U5 which is the mark for 1874 and GLB which was the mark for the company Guldsmedsaktiebolaget that was founded in 1867 in Stockholm. An additional mark is unknown. The diameter of the chamberstick is 12.2 cm with the finger holder extending an additional 2 cm. Its height is 8 cm and it weighs 120 grams.
