272 Austrian 19th Century Silver Chamberstick

An 1840 Austro Hungarian silver chamberstick. The chamberstick is square and is divided into 4 elevated sectors. Each sector has a different flowing chased design. The candle holder has a similar design on its stem and wax tray. The thumb rest is unusually thick. The chamberstick is marked with the 13 loth (812 fine silver) and the year 1840. It also has a maker’s mark AK which has been found on other silver items of this period (sugar tongs 1852) The chamberstick is 8.5 cm wide and 10 cm long. It is 7.5 cm tall and it weighs 105 grams
