267 English 19th Century Sterling Chamberstick

An 1851 English Sterling chamberstick. The chamberstick is a ten leaf chamberstick, each leaf emerging from the inner round shape of the chamberstick lending it a naturalistic flowing accent. The inner part of the base rises to become the stem of the candle holder and its upper part is also made up of the same type of leaves. The removable bobeche as well as the snuffer are also all shaped with the same form of leaves. The chamberstick has the hallmarks for Birmingham 1851 and the makers mark Y&W for Yapp and Woodward. The snuffer and bobeche both have the maker’s and the Sterling hallmarks. The chamberstick has a 9 cm diameter, is 6 cm high and weighs 50 grams.
