An 18th century Czech Republic steel chamberstick. This bohemian damascened and blued steel chamberstick was probabley made in the second quarter of the 18th century in Carlsbad now called Karlov Vary Czech Republic. The spa town of Carlsbad was well known in the 18th century for its fine steel work. The steel and brass fire blued and gilded and sometimes with fine inlay-work in silver and gold. The inlaid scenes in the chamberstick include birds, castles, a hunter with a rifle and a ship. The chamberstick has an 8 cm diameter is 19.5 cm long, and 5.3 cm tall. It weighs 290 grams
