235 Dutch 18th Century Brass Chamberstick

An 18th century Dutch brass chamberstick (Tinder Box). The tinderbox (which could be English rather than Dutch) is made of rolled sheet brass and the top is decorated with flowers and dots. The top has an inside fitter which was soldered to the top and provides a tight fit to close the top to the body. The candle socket which has a hole to help release the candle remainder is riveted to the top with a brass rivet. There is some old solder around the handle and at the rim. The tinder box is 11.5 cm across with the handle extending an additional 12 cm, it is 7 cm high and it weighs 320 grams.
