213 Austrian 19th Century Silver Chamberstick

An 1840-1850 Austrian silver chamberstick. The chamberstick is an unusual square chamberstick with the bottom of the stand, its rim, the stem of the candle holder, the candle holder and its rim, all maintaining the square shape. The chamberstick has a repousse design on its bottom consisting of a flower or shell design. The handle, as well as the top of the candle holder are made of hollow silver giving the chamberstick a thick look and feel. The chamberstick is marked with the Vienna standard mark and 13 loth (0.813), and a makers mark which is rubbed. The length of the chamberstick without the handle is 10 cm and the handle an additional 5 cm. Its height is 11.5 cm and its weight is 140 grams.
