An Austrian 19th century silver chamberstick. The chamberstick is decorated on the rim and on the candle holder with leaves and fruits typical of Austria. The finger holder has the same texture and design as the chamberstick. There is a fixture for a snuffer and a snuffer, which has the same initials FR, as does the chamberstick. However, the snuffer and the attachment for the snuffer could have been added later, since this is not typical of Austrian chambersticks. The chamberstick has the 13 mark (pre 1886) and a mark of the city (illegible). It resembles the naturalistic English chambersticks of the 1830-1840 period, see the English chamberstick # 217 . The chamberstick is 13 cm diameter, and 12.5 cm height. It weighs 268 grams.
