A 19th century Scottish sterling chamberstick. The chamberstick is of a circular form with naturalistic ridges in a spiral around the central candle holder. The removable bobeche is of the same form as the handle. The chamberstick is an early arts and crafts sterling silver by the Edinburgh silversmiths Hamilton & Inches in 1888. It has the castle and thistle marks for sterling and the assay, the year, and the makers mark. The diameter of the chamberstick is 12.8cm, the height is 7cm and it weighs 130 grams.
