A Danish 1831 silver chamberstick. The chamberstick has a partially reeded thistle sconce, on gadrooned decoration around the rim and elegant acanthus leaves on the thumb-piece. The base is engraved with the monogram MAP in Gothic script. The chamberstick is fully hallmarked on the underside of the base, and on the snuffer. It has three tower marks for Danish silver including the date 1831, an F for the assay master Jacob Graath Fabritius who was assay master from 1827-1831. A makers mark of ST most likely for Henrik Christian Stockfleth, and one other hallmark, a Pisces zodiac mark. Stockfleth was born in 1794 and died in 1874. The length of the chamberstick is 12.5 cm across the handle, it is 8 cm tall, and it weighs 155 grams
